Sick but Surviving

So my first week in DC was perfect but shitty all at the same time. I didn't arrive sick, but became sick within just a few days. Also I had a minor break down which for me is really really rare. At the time of my minor break down, I had been sick for two days, had had about 5 hours of sleep for the past week, and was frantically trying to find a place to park my car. It was around midnight and finally I find the police precinct so I can get a visitors parking pass for 10 days. This is of course after stopping for directions from capital police again and discovering I had shut my coat jacket in the door of my car.....which my two very "dependable" friends promptly burst out laughing..... Anyways, so I finally get to the police precinct and am promptly DENIED my visitor parking pass. WHAT BULL SHIT. So this car thing is a real bitch, I can't figure out how to get to a damn grocery store, let alone a target. Also, I have to pay for parking or risk getting parking tickets.
But, despite all I love it. What a paradox. I feel like this is it, I am finally doing something important, and life altering. Not just changing my life but critically changing and impacting other people's lives around me as well. Small insignificant things, like mpd denying me my right to a visitors parking pass, suddenly seem so trivial. I love it, I am growing up. Finally.
